We invite your marching band to experience the 6th Annual Hanover Hawk Marching Invitational. The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10am, with the Award Ceremony to be determined by the number of bands registered.
We are pleased to announce that our contest will offer quality adjudicators who will critique your performance in a manner that will benefit your band program. Five class divisions have been created to accommodate various band sizes (see below). The Hanover High School Administration and Band Boosters are ready to provide full support and assistance to you, your students, and traveling companions. Our goal is to make this competition beneficial and enjoyable to all participants.
Hanover High School is a new facility just north of Richmond, only minutes from I-95 and I-295. (Directions) Our campus is designed in a way that will promote easy flow of traffic for bands as they move from the parking lot, through warm-up and to the performance venue.
We plan to make this competition a useful means of evaluation as you and your band prepare for VBODA. While still functioning as a band competition, our judges are instructed to provide useful tapes and comments, coordinating with VBODA’s grading scale to help you during your final rehearsals. It is our hope that this event will be both educational and fun for your group, bringing you back to Hanover each year!
